Health Department Inspection Information

The following information can be helpful in aiding the Health Department during an inspection. For best results, please log them into this page and allow them to access the content.

To the Health Department inspector. Many of our records are digital. We welcome you to browse through our records to verify compliance. If there are any issues with easily finding information, please document it and it will be corrected for the next visit.

Biomedical Waste

  • We are on city water
  • Our water and sewer are provided as part of our HOA dues. We do not have a separate water/sewer bill.
  • Every room has red bags and sharps containers.

Body Piercing

  • We use Statim Autoclaves for our reprocessing.
  • The logs for the Statim's are digital and can be found below. This includes autoclave cycles and maintenance. To view the cycles, go to the archives tab. To view the maintenance, click on setup - tools. The username and password are saved.

  • We reprocess instruments in the room labeled "reprocessing room". There we have a single compartment sink for cleaning instruments.
  • The reprocessing room has two ultrasonic cleaners - one for dirty items, and one for brand new clean jewelry.
  • The reprocessing room has a divider to divide the clean side from the dirty side.
  • Feel free to go through the drawers and cabinets in the reprocessing room.
  • Our policy is not to bag items and date them. We do clean dirty instruments and bag them, however you will not find dates. To avoid this requirement, we reprocess each instrument, jewelry, needle, etc.., before each procedure in a statim cassette so that the reprocessing is immediate before each procedure.
  • We use indicator strips for each cycle to verify proper autoclaving temperatures were reached.
  • Manufacturer provided sterilization procedures are placed inside of the cabinet doors above the autoclaves for staff viewing.
  • Our single use items are kept in a storage room, dry and away from contamination.
  • We use Listerine antiseptic mouthrinse prior to oral piercings.
  • Customers are given verbal educational information before and after each service. They are also sent a copy of aftercare information via email and text immediately after their service.

  • We provide written educations instructions on the customers liability waiver and intake form. This form is digital and is signed by the customer. All of these forms can be viewed upon request.
  • Each room has proper signage for filing a complaint. We also have internal procedures for filing a complaint on behalf of a client or instructing clients to file their claims.
  • Customer records are available upon request. We keep customer records for 12+ years. All records include the required parameters.
  • A copy of the code and statutes are kept digitally for our staff to access through their staff login on our website.
  • A description of all piercing procedures is listed on our website.
  • We ensure all staff and studio licenses are current. These are displayed in our hallway or in private rooms depending on license type.

Tattoo

  • Our occupational licenses can be found in the hallway.
  • Our surfaces are sanitized with Cavicide 1 after each customer.
  • Liquids not stored in original containers are labeled.
  • Our exterior doors are self closing
  • We do not use an autoclave for tattooing purposes
  • We inspect needles and inks quarterly for expirations.
  • The aftercare instructions are provided verbally, in writing, and through email. The written aftercare instructions provided can be viewed HERE.
  • The establishment tattoo license is displayed in the hallway
  • Employee records are kept digitally and are available upon request.
  • Customer records are maintained digitally. This includes all required information including service records.

  • We use the health department provided form for notarized parental consent. We keep copies of those forms for 12+years.
  • Tattoo artists will have their licenses displayed in their private rooms.
