Worried right now? Redness, swelling, and tenderness are
normal early on. If something looks infected, don't remove the jewelry —
email us a photo or book a free follow-up. For an emergency, see a doctor first, then tell us.
Piercing aftercare
Clean once or twice daily with sterile saline (we carry NeilMed). Nothing
harsher — no alcohol, no peroxide, no ointments, no harsh soaps.
Wash your hands before you touch it — and otherwise, don't touch it. No twisting or turning.
Leave the jewelry in until the piercing is fully healed. Come see us before changing it —
we'll tell you honestly if it's ready, and downsizing the post after swelling ends is the
best thing you can do for the long-term result.
Keep pools, hot tubs, lakes, and the ocean off it during the early months.
Oral piercings: rinse with saline; cold food and drinks help swelling in the first days.
Sleep on the other side; keep hair, headphones, and helmets off healing ear cartilage.
Tattoo aftercare
Wash the tattoo through the day with mild soap and water; pat dry with something clean.
Moisturize as your artist directed (we trust Hustle Butter — vegan and petroleum-free;
most store lotions and sunscreens contain chemicals a healing tattoo doesn't want).
Keep it out of the sun and out of pools while it heals. It's an open wound — treat it like one.
Don't pick or scratch. Peeling and light flaking are normal; picking costs you ink.
Most tattoos settle in over 2–4 weeks. Around a month out, stop by for a quick healed check.
A piercing often looks healed outside long before it's healed through — when in
doubt, keep caring for it, or come in and we'll look for free.
Every service includes an open invitation: questions, checks, and downsizing
advice are always free. eastcoastworldwide.com/aftercare · Open 7 days, 10am–6pm.
